Have you felt the calling to deepen your understanding of the practices of yoga?
Do you wish to pay forward the benefits you have gleaned from your time on the mat?
Join Imogen on this 8 month journey to awaken the authentic voice inside of yourself and step into the seat of teacher.
Educates - Inspires - Heals
Imogen's 250hr TEACHER TRAINING programme has been birthed from her deep love of the practices of yoga. Yoga has, in every way, transformed her life since she first stepped on the mat, way back in 1998. Since then she has trained under some of the world's leading teachers and continues to be a student herself to ensure she stays informed and this is reflected in all her work. Her passion to share yoga never wanes and she believes this work in the world is more important now than ever before.
Life is a process of learning and unlearning. A journey of concealment and revelation. We all have a teacher inside of us and it is this embodied understanding of 'self' that will help you to discover THE TEACHER IN YOU.
This teacher training is for anyone who is a truth seeker. For anyone that is curious to expand their knowledge and develop a personal practice. It promises to create life long connections and deep personal growth.
Imogen will be supported by a faculty of incredible, knowledgeable and embodied teachers. Whether your intention with this training is to teach yoga or not, you will develop skills and confidence which will help you to transform both on and off the yoga mat.
PROGRAMME DETAILS
Why choose this training?
TIME
This is NOT a crash course… becoming a yoga teacher takes time. Growth takes time… if you are wanting a quick fix training please look elsewhere. There will be 250 committed hours of training. There will be homework between weekends and time between modules to integrate, practice, revise and reflect.
SPACE
Yoga is a ritual practice that should take place in a safe environment, as should your learning. We will create a space with a small group of students (max of 16 people) so each participant can feel seen, heard and cared for.
PRACTICE
Yoga is a lifelong practice so we will make sure that you are practicing yoga and practicing teaching right from the start of our training. Each weekend you will be able to integrate the techniques and the knowledge that we have shared receiving constructive feedback from our teachers.
AUTHENTICITY
Yoga is for EVERY BODY and teaching yoga is about creating spaces authentically for anyone that wants to learn from you. There will be time for you to inhabit your authentic self so you can feel empowered in this seat of teacher.
INQUIRY
We will question the way Yoga History, Philosophy, Politics and Ethics are taught in many other teacher trainings across the yoga world and we will do things differently. Inviting NEW THOUGHT, we will look at relational power dynamics, super structures and cultural dynamics within the contemporary world of yoga (New Ageism, Capitalism and Institutionalisation). This will help us understand the rich and varied ways in which yoga has interacted with society and our responsibility as yoga teachers within that.

Yoga History, Philosophy & Politics
Firdose is a South African of Indian descent, a yoga teacher, practitioner & researcher passionate about issues of decolonisation and social justice. She is currently undertaking doctoral work titled Yoga, Politics and Possibilities for Social Justice at the University of Cape Town. She holds a Masters degree on the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and she is a registered E-RYT 500 teacher with Yoga Alliance. She also works as the Southern African correspondent for ESPN, where she reports on cricket in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and beyond.
Her teaching style is steeped in historical knowledge, cultural experience, socio political curiosity and practical application. In her classes you can expect historical and philosophical discourse zoning in on particular periods in yoga’s storied development, anatomically intelligent postural practice which is also reflective of asana as it evolved over time and culturally relevant information on practices from the subcontinent which have evolved through a Western lens. She is both an African and an Indian and recognizes the shared suffering through colonization. Her work is centered on amplifying both Africa and India’s attempts to seek liberation – of their resources, their cultures and their bodies.
Prenatal Yoga
Claire has been working with pregnant women for over a decade in her role as a reflexologist and yoga teacher. She trained initially with Katy Appleton - apple yoga and then enhanced her teaching undertaking Katy's Pre and Post Natal Training. Since then she has run regular prenatal yoga courses at her studio in Hitchin.
Claire has two sons, now 22 and 19, and found yoga to have been invaluable through her pregnancies and through motherhood.
Whilst many women will seek a dedicated prenatal class, some women will attend a regular yoga class whilst pregnant. Claire's teaching through this training will offer you guidance on how to confidently welcome pregnant women into your classes.
Of course ultimately they may move, or you may wish to guide them towards a prenatal focused class, but having some basic knowledge around how to accommodate an (often unexpected) pregnant woman will be invaluable.
Imogen is committed to cultivating a community that is inclusive, equitable and diverse. Increasing BIPOC representation and supporting low-income populations through scholarship opportunities on her trainings is important to her.
If financial circumstances are preventing you from following a yoga teaching path, she wants to help. Imogen will offer 1 full scholarship per training to students from Marginalised Identities & Minoritized Ethnicities.
